The crescent moon holds symbolism across various cultures and contexts. Some common interpretations of its symbolism include:
🌙 Transition and Change: The crescent moon represents a period of transition and change. It signifies the shifting from one phase to another, just as the moon transitions from darkness to light. It reminds us that change is a natural part of life and encourages us to embrace growth and transformation.
🌙 Femininity and Goddess Energy: The crescent moon is often associated with feminine energy and the divine feminine. It symbolizes the nurturing, intuitive, and mysterious qualities attributed to women. It represents the power of creation, fertility, and the cyclical nature of life.
🌙 Illumination and Enlightenment: The crescent moon, especially when paired with a star, is commonly associated with illumination and enlightenment. It represents the quest for knowledge, wisdom, and spiritual awakening. It serves as a guiding light, illuminating the path towards higher understanding and consciousness.
🌙 Protection and Warding Off Evil: In some cultures, the crescent moon is believed to possess protective qualities. It is seen as a symbol that guards against negative energies, evil spirits, and malevolent forces. It is often used as a talisman or amulet to provide spiritual protection.
🌙 Dreams and Intuition: The crescent moon is associated with dreams, intuition, and the subconscious mind. It serves as a reminder to pay attention to our inner wisdom, listen to our dreams, and trust our instincts. It encourages us to tap into our intuitive faculties and explore the depths of our psyche.
These cute little minimalistic 9ct gold crescent moon charms are handmade by me in my little workshop in Devon using recycled gold. The gold is heated to melting point, where it then takes it’s natural form as a gold nugget blob. The blob is then formed under pressure in to this delicate crescent moon shape, where it is then carefully finished by hand.
This little charm is available to purchase alone so that you can match it with a suitable chain of your liking (please see my chain listings for some unique, quality chains) or you can chose to add a 16”, 1.3mm link belcher / rolo chain to your order, made from either sterling silver or 14k gold fill.
Gold jewellery where one piece weighs less than 1 gram is not legally required to be hallmarked by law in the UK. This charm weighs less than 1 gram so does not need to be hallmarked, however you can rest assured that the materials I use are quality controlled and sourced from reputable suppliers within the UK.
If you would like your charm to be tested by the London assay office and hallmarked with my makers mark to show authenticity, then please message me to discuss, but bare in mind that this will be reflected in the cost and processing time.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask, I’m happy to help 🐚
